GenOffice

GenOffice is an open-source desktop office suite from Genspark (Mainfunc, Inc.) for macOS, Windows and Linux. It opens local Word documents, spreadsheets and slides, plus PDF, Markdown and HTML, and saves them back in their own formats. Ask for an edit in the side panel and the AI changes the file itself: document edits can show up as Word-style tracked changes, one sentence can add a summary sheet and chart to a spreadsheet, and every AI turn can be rolled back as a batch. You can sign in with a Genspark account or point it at your own model endpoint, and the same engine also runs as a CLI and an MCP server. The makers say it is free for individuals and teams. The AI works on the real file, keeps its format, and leaves every change visible and reversible.

Before you start: It's a desktop download with no mobile app. When you use AI, the relevant parts of your document go to the model provider you chose. The official builds send anonymous usage events by default, which you can turn off. Model, search and image services are billed by their providers; credits and pricing when you sign in with Genspark aren't stated. The app checks for updates in the background and installs them when you quit. The main code is Apache-2.0; the enterprise features under ee/ have their own license, and production use needs an agreement with Mainfunc. The documentation is available in 22 languages.
