What it is
Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant, which the company positions as an assistant for work that can take on whole tasks. It creates and edits Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint decks, connects to apps such as Slack, Gmail and Google Drive, runs tasks on a schedule you set, searches the web and can operate a browser through its Chrome extension. Claude is available on the web, on iOS and Android, and as desktop apps for macOS and Windows. Claude Code is the version for writing software, and there is also a Chrome extension and a Microsoft 365 integration.
