What it is

ClaimJumper, by GitHub user sputhen, is a prototype for sorting medical bills. You upload PNG images of bills, explanations of benefits (EOBs) or remittance notices, and it uses OpenAI models to find denied items, line them up in a queue and draft an appeal with evidence for each.

It handles paperwork only and makes no medical judgments. The author states it doesn't file claims, send email or contact payers; every outside action is yours to take. It was built with Codex for OpenAI Build Week 2026.

Who it's for:people going back and forth with insurers over denials who want their bills sorted first, and those who handle this paperwork for others.

Before you start: you deploy it yourself (Next.js, Node 22) and supply your own OpenAI API key, which is billed. Bill images go to OpenAI's model service, so upload only documents you're allowed to handle. There are no accounts or database; approvals live only in the current browser session. The author describes it as a hackathon prototype, not a finished product. The code is MIT licensed. The interface is in English.

Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
