What it is
ChatCut Agent Plugin is the official plugin for ChatCut, an online video editor, and it connects Codex, Claude Code, Grok Bot, Cursor and Kimi Work to your ChatCut projects. Once it's installed, one sentence in your AI assistant can import media, change the project timeline, create motion graphics, generate assets, transcribe audio, add captions and export videos, and it then checks that the edits really show up in the editor. The README's sample prompts are plain, like "Import this video into my ChatCut project," "Generate a voiceover and background music" and "Transcribe this clip and add captions." The repository has a package for each assistant, all built on the same set of editing Skills, so it works the same way whichever assistant you use.
Who it's for:creators who already edit in ChatCut and like to work inside Codex or Claude Code.
Before you start: you need a ChatCut account, access to the project you want to edit, and one of Codex with plugin support, Claude Code 2.x, Grok Bot, Cursor or Kimi Work; install steps for each are on the ChatCut site and in the repository. The plugin connects through ChatCut's hosted MCP endpoint and asks you to sign in the first time you use it. When you import local media, a bundled Node script uploads your video, audio and images to your ChatCut project, and transcription, asset generation and export all run in ChatCut's cloud, so your footage doesn't stay only on your computer. The plugin includes a voice-cloning Skill; get the person's consent before using anyone else's voice. The README doesn't list prices; ChatCut's cloud features may use credits or cost money, so check the official site. The plugin code is published under GPL-3.0-only; ChatCut's cloud service and brand assets aren't covered by that license.
