What it is
Bub is an open-source Python runtime for AI agents from bubbuild, described on its site as a tiny agent runtime composable with plugins. Every stage of a turn, such as resolving the session, loading state, building the prompt, calling the model, rendering and dispatching the reply, is a replaceable hook built on pluggy, so you can change one stage without forking the runtime. Its memory model is distinctive: context is rebuilt from an append-only "tape" of records with no lossy summaries, which leaves an auditable trail of decisions. The same pipeline can drive a CLI, Telegram and custom channels, and humans and agents share the same boundaries and handoff rules.
Who it's for:Python developers who want to build customizable, auditable AI agents. If you don't write code, it won't be useful to you.
Before you start: macOS and Linux users can use the one-line install script on the site, and Windows is supported. Licensed under Apache 2.0.
