What it is
Big-AGI Open is the open-source edition of the multi-model AI workspace by Enrico Ros. Connect the model providers you choose and chat in one interface, send the same question to several models, then compare and merge their answers. You can attach documents and images, and optionally use voice, image generation, web search and shared chats. The author also runs a hosted Pro version, which is separate from the open-source code.
Who it's for:People who use several AI models and want to compare their answers in one place. Self-hosting takes some server or command-line know-how.
Before you start: Build it locally with Node and npm, or deploy with Docker, Vercel or Kubernetes; you bring your own model accounts and API keys. Model settings and API keys are kept in the browser's localStorage, and chats and large files in IndexedDB; your input, attachments and configured keys pass through the backend to the model providers you pick. The official prebuilt Docker image sends anonymous page and feature usage stats to the author by default, and the docs say this excludes prompts and chats; builds from source don't include it by default. Shared chats are stored on a server. Google Drive is optional, and the docs describe access limited to files you pick. Voice and screen capture need browser permission. If you use these features, weigh the safety risks yourself. AI Inspiration World is not responsible for any consequences. Model and hosting costs depend on your providers. The code is MIT-licensed.
