What it is

autopilot-jobhunt is a Python command-line tool by Tarun Gupta, and the README also shows how to add it to ~/.claude.json as an MCP tool. It fetches the public career pages and job descriptions of companies you choose, then has AI score each role against your resume; the README says the scoring prompt uses your actual resume instead of keyword matching. When you tell it apply to #N, it drafts a resume and cover letter for that role on your machine. The drafting prompt tells the model to keep every fact truthful and not invent experience, and the tool ends by telling you to review, edit and submit manually. PRIVACY states that the tool never applies to a job, and Telegram is used only to notify you.

Who it's for:Job seekers comfortable with a Python command line who want to sweep their target companies' openings on a regular basis. Readers who don't write code won't be able to use it.

Before you start: You need Python 3.10 or later, dependencies installed with pip, and a TinyFish account and API key, which are required. PRIVACY says there is no fully offline mode. Every scan sends job URLs and the fetched page text through the TinyFish cloud service, and your full resume and the job description go to the model provider you pick. The default provider, OpenRouter, is a third-party cloud service, so content passes through OpenRouter and the model host you select. Switching to claude_cli reuses the Claude session already signed in on your machine, and Anthropic still processes the data. If you turn on Telegram notifications, results are sent to Telegram. Follow each career site's terms when fetching public pages. AI Inspiration World does not recommend running setup_cron.sh: it adds a job to your system crontab that scans automatically every day at 2:30 AM by default, sending the data above each time. Running scans by hand when you need them makes it easier to know when your data leaves. The script targets Unix systems; on Windows you set up scheduling yourself. The software is free and open source. TinyFish and model costs depend on each provider, and the README mentions OpenRouter's free quota or a Claude subscription as options. MIT license.
