What it is
Athenaion is a 3D web world by Leon Lin (GitHub Leonxlnx). The whole classical city is generated procedurally in three.js code, with terrain, streams and waterfalls, buildings and statues. You can switch between 9 camera views, look around with the mouse, and render stills and videos on your own machine. The author says Claude Code (Opus 5.5) built it in about two days to match 9 reference images. No outside assets are used; the hills, water, houses and statues all come from code. AI was only used to make it, so nothing calls an AI model while it runs, and there's no account to sign in to.
Who it's for:Anyone who loves classical architecture and 3D scenes, or wants to see how far AI-written code can go. Running it on your computer takes a little command-line work.
Before you start: There's no hosted demo from the author, so you run it locally. First run npm install, which downloads dependencies; then run node tools/serve.mjs and open localhost:8080 in your browser. That local server stays up while it runs and only listens on your own machine (127.0.0.1).
Rendering stills and videos needs Chrome or Edge, and the code has the Windows install path hard-coded, so on other systems you may need to change it. The author used an AMD 780M graphics chip.
The code is MIT-licensed. The author's showcase video uses music by Kevin MacLeod under CC BY 4.0, and that music isn't in the repo.
Based on the project's public documentation. Not tested by AI Inspiration World.
