What it is
Aqua, by GitHub user vignesh07, is a local multi-agent orchestration tool. Using a task queue, file locks and messages, it lets coding agents such as Claude, Codex and Gemini split work on one project without editing the same file at once.
It opens terminal windows for each agent, hands out tasks, and can give them separate branch worktrees. The README says Built with Claude.
Who it's for:developers running several AI coding agents who want them to work in order. Readers who don't write code won't need it.
Before you start: it needs Python 3.10 or later, installs with pip, and expects accounts for each agent. Running aqua setup --all writes CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md and GEMINI.md instruction files into your project, and it opens terminals and starts coding agents. Whether the tool costs anything isn't stated; model and API costs are separate. Supported operating systems aren't fully listed. The code is MIT licensed.
