What it is
AI Game Asset Studio is a personal project by GitHub user Aryan Barthwal: a pipeline that runs entirely on your own machine. It uses the Qwen3:8B model in Ollama to turn your idea into a structured prompt, validates it, then renders it with Stable Diffusion 1.5 in ComfyUI as a 512×512 PNG asset with generation metadata. It can load a pixel-style LoRA for pixel art and includes steps for background removal, resizing and transparency. The author deliberately built only the first phase, so agents, memory, sprite sheets, animation and game engine integration are not included yet.
Who it's for:indie game developers who want to generate art assets on their own computer for free and don't mind working with local models.
Before you start: the author develops on an Apple Silicon Mac and recommends 16 GB of memory. You need Python 3.10 or later, Ollama, ComfyUI Desktop and the Stable Diffusion 1.5 checkpoint, about 4.27 GB. Generated assets fall under Stable Diffusion 1.5's CreativeML Open RAIL-M license, which the author suggests reading before using them in a product.
